Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Support Analyst to join the international support team of one of the world’s most successful developers of satellite navigation apps for iOS and Android mobile devices.

Job Responsibilities:
Based in our modern central London offices, you will be the technical liaison helping to solve challenges that customers and partners encounter using the Trimble MAPS product set including standalone mobile apps, service integrations and client-server based customer/partner solutions

This role requires excellent communication skills as you will be working directly with customers and partners on a daily basis, for many of whom English is a second language. It is a fast paced environment requiring collaborative working with a number of different stakeholders and technical specialists across a wide range of technologies and environments.

Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying and reporting software bugs and usability problems for remedial action as part of a programme of continual improvement. The role requires interfacing with developers, product and programme managers and testers internally and involves intense communication with customers by phone, email and occasionally, site visits.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • BSc in Computer Science or related subject or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years experience working with C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript, C++ or other programming languages and tools
  • Solid understanding of web services – XML/REST/SOAP
  • Knowledge of internet based systems, ideally including experience developing web based applications
  • Mobile Device knowledge of the main mobile and desktop platforms, including iOS, Android, and Windows
  • Capability of being a subject matter expert and escalation point to assist customers in the implementation, set-up and use of ALK products
  • Excellent fluent English verbal and written skills
  • A collaborative approach to engaging peers, stakeholders and cross functional specialists to deliver customer solutions in a professional manner maintaining client satisfaction as a primary goal
  • Flexibility and an ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision to meet deadlines in a fast moving environment
  • Full drivers license in UK/Europe

Additional desirable skills:

  • Fluency in German or French language prefered
  • Experience of using service management systems such as Freshdesk, Zendesk, ServiceNow, Jira or Remedy
