About the Job:

The Test Lead’s role is to develop, establish and enforce quality standards and measures for the software development organization. Overseeing software test engineers, this individual will direct research and development of test cases in support of business processes and requirements over the course of software development lifecycles. You will lead the development, establishment, and enforcement of quality measures and testing standards for new, and/or improvements to existing applications throughout their development lifecycles.

Analyze data in order to find areas for growth

Build reports to track progress

Formulate strategies to increase productivity

Review processes in order to ensure that they align with current trends

Ensure that software quality measures comply with regulatory standards, industry standards, and accepted best practices

Build methodologies and processes for the collection and analysis of data for ensuring software quality

Direct the analysis of formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws

Direct the analysis of documentation and technical specifications for any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality

Develop change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies

Fully support and assist in maintaining the Release Management process while mentoring team members and peers on its use

Assist with identifying/selecting the best talent

Direct and prioritize work, managing performance and providing mentorship / coaching to team members

Manage the culture within their team, holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors

Assist in the recruiting process

Additional Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as CS, CIS, or MIS

7 years relevant work experience as a Software Developer, Software Quality Engineer, or as an SDET (programmatically test the product, measure test coverage, develop the sustainable automation, drive testability and diagnostic ability into the product, while promoting best practices in quality areas)

Experience testing mainframe COBOL and/or PL1 applications

Experience programming using Java, Python and/or .NET

Experience with SQL

Familiarity with various software technologies, methodologies, and applied software engineering practices/standards such as OOP in an Agile development environment

Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and core Computer Science concepts

Experience with Team Foundation Server/Azure DevOps for requirements management, test management and build/release

Strong familiarity with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Continuous Testing concepts

Strong verbal & written skills

Strong analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

A master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems

Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and techniques

Demonstrated mastery with tools and languages such as SoapUI, Rest Assured, Selenium, Java SDK, Python and Groovy

Experience with GIT

Software and/or Test Automation Development experience in a CI/CD environment

Test automation experience including RESTful APIs/Services, Functional Testing, Performance Testing and Load Testing

Demonstrated ability to own, design, lead and implement test strategies for complex applications and deployment topologies

Experience with open-source test tools such as Robot Framework

Experience with test strategy and execution of Web, Mobile and Desktop systems

Can juggle testing of multiple projects with multiple development teams

ISTQB certification
