Job Description

As an IT Manager you run the operations of the Local IT team across all sites within your remit. You work closely with a team of IT professionals while overseeing the RtB (run the business) activities in a proactive manner.

The IT Manager provides proactive solutions and facilitates effective support management for the business’s everchanging needs. Areas of responsibility include; people, project, resource and budget management, senior stakeholder engagement, communications management and promoting the IT brand to the BCG user community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain best practice standards for IT operations within the teams and offices you are responsible for
  • Perform daily check-ins with support teams to ensure they have the support and tools needed to provide support to the BCG user community
  • Own and manage CAPEX and OPEX forecasting for the IT Budget across all offices you are responsible for
  • Manage and maintain all local IT equipment for users including being the main point of contact for other teams within IT
  • Provide proactive support for onsite AV resources and ensure training is provided to the BCG user community where necessary
  • Supervise the creation, completion and resolution of all tickets through the IT service management ticketing system as well as regular checks to ensure agreed SLA’s and KPI’s are being met
  • Manage and supervise the team on a week-to-week basis ensuring that RtB activities are prioritized while project work deadlines are met
  • Manage and coach all direct reports with weekly check-ins to ensure performance is of a high standard,

opportunities for professional growth is discussed, as well as providing timely and honest feedback when required

  • Delivering weekly updates to your line manager highlighting the team’s activity, pressure points and upcoming activities
  • Attend regularly scheduled IT Manager operations calls to ensure your office has representation and oversight as to what is happening in your geographical region
  • Work closely with key stakeholders across the business and act as a key business relationship manager through facilitating regular meetings or informal engagement opportunities
  • Use your strong project management skills to identify and drive continuous technology improvements as well as encouraging your team to always think ‘what’s next?’ in the technology/service delivery space
  • Flexible approach to working outside of business hours to meet deadlines

communication (written and verbal), time-management and collaboration skills

  • Self-starting attitude, resourcefulness and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment displaying consideration and respect for others
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while displaying tact and patience in stressful situations
  • Professionalism to be able to respect all BCG information as personal and confidential
  • Appetite for continuous learning to further IT knowledge and career development
  • Ability to follow established procedures/standards
  • Excellent oral and written English, clear communication and ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders



  • Ability to clearly communicate and present technical concepts to management, peer group and staff
  • Superior knowledge of commonly used IT concepts, practices, and procedures
  • ITIL Foundation certified (v3 or v4) and/or a clear understanding of the ITIL system and ticketing process
  • Budgeting experience in OPEX and CAPEX is a must
  • Project management qualification desirable or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing multiple sites / locations
