We are looking for a Junior Systems Administrator to join our growing team. The Junior Systems Administrator will ensure to help deploy, monitor and maintain production computer systems for our VFX studio and provide technical support for the users in a mixed Windows, Mac and Linux environment.

Job Description:
Install, configure and test computer hardware and operating systems.

Ensure systems are operating to meet the needs of the studio without project delay.

Help determine and troubleshoot issues with production and administration applications, including but not limited to Nuke, Maya, Arnold/RenderMan, Shotgun V-Ray, and Redshift GPU Rendering.

Monitor and maintain client computer systems including hardware troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.

Deploy and maintain production applications, and support of production workflows.

Repair, replace, or upgrade computer parts and systems as required.

Maintain the server room.

Provide user support, procedural documentation and relevant reports.

Support multi-platform network and infrastructure which consist of a significant render /computer farm with many users and high performance network storage.

Support system roll-out of new applications and updates.

Maintain and support back-ups of key computer systems.

Follow procedural documentation and accurately report completed work.

Maintain and validate technical and process documentation and providing required reporting and feedback

Maintain user accounts and profiles (on and off-staff requests), process and document all changes.

Prioritize and manage multiple ongoing cases.

Assist with the research, testing and evaluation of new technology or business processes.

Administer servers and network services AD, DNS, DHCP, SMB, NFS.

Requirements:
1-2 years’ experience in an IT support role.

Post-secondary education in Computer Science and/or Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.

At least 1-2 years’ working closely with Windows, Mac and Linux platforms.

Knowledge of VFX pipelines and Render Engines; V-Ray and Redshift (Serif Structure)

Experience with Python OC & Scripting languages.

Capability of working with networking, switches and routing technologies.

Experience building, repairing, or replacing computer parts.

Experience working in TV or post-production is desirable.

Experience in the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of relevant software packages including Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and other industry-specific software is desirable.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize tasks.

Ability to deliver tasks under tight deadlines.
